Eligible Participants
- Elite: 30 domestic athletes / 5 international athletes, total of 35 participants, invitation only.
- Challenge: 20 participants (open registration; selection based on performance ranking, top 20 athletes will be admitted).
- Note 1: Elite invitation criteria and standards:
- Current national record holders in IAU ultramarathon events (e.g., 100 km, 100 miles, 24H, 48H).
- Athletes who have achieved IAU qualification standards, including NAT (National Standard) or INT (International Standard).
- Athletes who have obtained national team qualification in recent years (e.g., national team members of the IAU 24H World Championships, Spartathlon 246 km National Team, Austrian 80 km World Cup Trail Running National Team, etc.).
- Top three overall finishers in major domestic ultramarathon events (e.g., Qilan Ultramarathon, Yilan Dongshan River Ultramarathon, Soochow 24H Ultra-marathon, Southern Cross-Island Highway Ultramarathon, Zhenxibao Ultramarathon, etc.).
- Note 2: Challenge selection criteria and standards:
- Selection will be based primarily on performance in the IAU 100 km and 12-hour events.
- Registration Period: Registration for the Challenge is open from now until February 28.
- The list of selected athletes will be announced on March 3. After receiving the acceptance notification, selected athletes must submit the participation deposit within three days (no later than March 6). Late payments will not receive additional notice, and vacant spots will be filled sequentially from the waiting list.
Event Fees
- Registration Fee – Fully Sponsored by the Orange Gate Foundation
- Elite Division (177 km): NT$50,000
- Challenge Division (82 km): NT$20,000
- To promote ultramarathon running and encourage the spirit of challenge, the Orange Gate Foundation. will fully sponsor the registration fees, in order to reduce the burden on runners and encourage greater participation.
Participation Deposit
To ensure the smooth operation and safety of the event, domestic participants in Taiwan are required to pay a deposit at the time of registration (10% of the registration fee). The deposit will be fully refunded after the participant completes the check-in procedure. Participants who fail to check in or are absent from the event shall not be entitled to request a refund of the deposit for any reason.
- Elite Division (177 km): NT$5,000
- Challenge Division (82 km): NT$2,000
- To ensure the smooth running of the event, international participants are exempt from paying the participation deposit in accordance with the organizer’s regulations; however, they are required to sign the relevant participation memorandum.
Athlete Shuttle Service
The organizers will arrange shuttle transportation for athletes. Athletes must register their shuttle needs during registration. Vehicles will be arranged based on registered demand. On-site or last-minute requests will not be accepted. Shuttle service details are as follows:

Athlete Benefits
Elite athletes will be provided post-race accommodation at Hotel Indigo Alishan.
- Note 1: Limited to athletes who have successfully passed Checkpoint 3 (Chiayi Dapu).
- Note 2: Accommodation will be arranged on a twin-sharing basis, with separate rooms for male and female athletes.
- Note 3: For the Challenge, the organizers will arrange shuttle transportation after the race to return athletes to Chiayi HSR Station.
Awards
- Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in Elite for both men and women.
- The champions of both the men’s and women’s categories in the Challenge will receive an invitation to participate in the 177 km Elite of the 2027 event.
- All participants who finish before the cut-off time will receive an electronic certificate of completion and a commemorative medal in recognition of their achievement.

Race Cut-off Times
- Elite: 24 hours, 18 April 2026 – 19:00 (UTC+8) (Yushan National Park Boundary Marker)
- Challenge: 11 hours, 18 April 2026 –06:00 (UTC+8) (Chiayi Dapu Outer Ring Road)
- Cut-off Points: To ensure the safety and well-being of participants, two cut-off points will be established along the course, as follows:
- Cut-off Point A: Chiayi Dapu Outer Ring Road Station (82 km mark / Time limit: 11 hours)
- Cut-off Point B: Le Ye Café (134 km mark / Time limit: 19 hours)
- Mandatory Medical Station:A mandatory medical station will be set up at Le Ye Café at the 134 km mark. All participants are required to undergo a full physical assessment conducted by a physician. If the doctor determines that it is unsafe for a participant to continue, the event organizers have the authority to immediately disqualify the participant from the race for safety reasons, and no objections will be accepted.
Checkpoints
In addition to the five scheduled checkpoints announced, there will be several additional mobile checkpoints. The exact locations of the scheduled checkpoints may be adjusted on race day according to on-site conditions, and no further announcements will be made.
Withdrawal at Cut-off Point
A dedicated vehicle will be arranged at Cut-off Point A (Chiayi Dapu Outer Ring Road Station). If a participant cannot reach the cut-off point within the time limit, or chooses to withdraw early due to physical discomfort or injury, he or she will be transported by the vehicle to Chiayi High-Speed Rail Station to avoid the long and strenuous journey up Alishan. This allows participants to return home early for rest and recovery.
Withdrawal on the route
If a participant passes Cut-off Point A but later experiences physical discomfort, hypothermia, or similar conditions on the course, and the event’s doctor or medical personnel deems it unsafe to continue, the event organizers have the right to immediately disqualify the participant. The participant will then be escorted to the finish line or to a designated hotel for rest by the mobile team or nearby event vehicles. Participants are not permitted to question the medical staff’s diagnosis, professional assessment, or decision on-site.
Aid Stations
Basic aid stations will be set up approximately every 5 kilometers along the course. The exact locations may be adjusted based on conditions and traffic safety. In addition, four aid stations providing hot food will be available throughout the course.
Aid Supplies
- Basic Aid Stations: Mineral water, sports drinks, cola, salt tablets, bananas, potato chips, rice balls, energy jelly, energy gels, energy bars, bread, mixed congee, and more.
- Special Aid Stations: Hot meals such as noodles, congee, and soup; instant noodles; hot beverages like coffee and milk tea; various liquid drinks; fruits, and more. (Actual items may vary based on what each supporting running group provides on-site).
Mandatory Equipment
Timing chip, race bib (front/back), two sets of headlamps (front/back), mobile phone, power bank, GPS watch, thermal foil blanket (provided by the organizers), and LED reflective vest (provided by the organizers).

Recommended Equipment
Hydration backpack or waist pack with water bottles, windproof and waterproof jacket, whistle, lightweight raincoat, energy bars/gels.
Course Rules
All participants must follow the official race guidelines and course markings. Taking shortcuts or leaving the designated course is not allowed. Participants may not use any form of transportation or ride non-motorized vehicles. Any violations, if reported and verified, will result in disqualification from the race.
Course Penalties
Due to heavy traffic on Alishan Highway and Provincial Highway 3 during weekends, for the safety of participants, crossing the double yellow line is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in the following penalties:
- First offense: verbal warning
- Second offense: a 30-minute time penalty
- Third offense: immediate disqualification from the race
- Participants are advised to pay special attention and comply with this rule.
Aid Station Regulations
As the event has set up basic aid stations every 5 kilometers along the course and three additional stations offering substantial hot meals in high-altitude areas, participants are prohibited from receiving personal supplies or purchasing food from stores (except from designated partner stores). Violations, if reported and verified, will result in disqualification from the race.
Transition Area Services
The clothing and gear transition services will be set up at the 82 km mark (Dapu Outer Ring Road) and the 134 km mark (Le Ye Café). Participants are requested to bag the items they wish to switch and label the bag with their race number, name, phone number, and transition area location at least 2 hours before the race starts. These bags will be collected by event staff and transported to the designated locations.
Other Equipment Regulations
Personal assistance equipment, such as trekking poles, is not prohibited. However, participants must carry these items themselves or obtain them through the transition area. To ensure fairness, participants are not allowed to receive any equipment from others on the course.
Course Guidance
Directional signs, arrow markings on the road, and event announcements will be provided at key intersections along the entire course. However, participants are strongly advised to download an offline map before the race to ensure there are no issues with route accuracy.
Dispute Resolution
- In the event of a dispute, such as accusations of race cheating, shortcutting, or using transportation, the organizers have the right to review the participant’s GPX data to verify distance, time, and track alignment with the official course.
- If a participant wishes to file a complaint, he or she must first submit a NT$2,000 deposit to the race’s judging team. If the complaint is found to be invalid or unsuccessful, the deposit will be forfeited with no objections allowed.
- In the case of a dispute, participants must follow the official appeal process. Participants are not allowed to question the judges, event medical staff, event personnel, or volunteers on-site.
- All decisions made by the panel of judges will be final. Participants and their families must accept these decisions without protest or argument at the event.

Insurance Information
- Please ensure all fields in the registration form are filled out accurately. The participant will be responsible for any loss of insurance coverage due to errors or omissions.
- All invited participants should assess their physical condition on the day of the event and ensure adequate sleep and nutrition before the race. The event organizers will provide emergency medical services during the race and at the finish line.
